HAMP is a Home Affordable Modification Program designed to help people behind on their mortgage with hardships keep their home.
Getting it approved takes persistence, about a year's worth working your way through all the levels of servitor bureaucrats till you get to somebody who gives a shit but its worth it in the end.
In my case it drops my mortgage payments from 53% to 31% of my income and its one of those little things that the Obama administration does differently than the big banks, wallstreet and the Republican think tanks that often draft legislation as was the case with the Heritage Foundation, Ronald Reagan and NAFTA in the 1980's.
In July 2009, FHA launched the FHA-Home Affordable Modification Program to provide assistance to borrowers to modify their mortgages to provide more affordable payments. Under Chapter VI of the MHA Handbook, FHA-insured first lien mortgage loans that are modified under FHA-HAMP are eligible for certain incentive payments under HAMP.
But wait, below the orange map of the route through the paperwork, there's more
I don't know what role Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren and other Democrats played in getting this modification to government owned mortgages initiated with the servitors. I can remember Warren talking about something similar back at the time of the bailouts, but somehow I think some of the credit goes to Obama.
Obama strikes me as above all else a classic Saul Alinsky, Chicago neighborhood trained, community organizer. In this regard he's firmly in the Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders wing of the Progressive Democratic Party and you can depend on it he doesn't tell you everything.
What you may be missing is that he is capable of acting with an international desire to make things right, to improve the quality of life in places where life is not necessarily better than death until people stop strapping bombs to their chests to make points that could be made in collective bargaining.
If you are going just by what you have heard he has done you are several dimensions behind the curve. In particular I can't see the same administration that gave me HAMP and the ACA letting me down on the negotiations for the TPP by suddenly deciding your personal presidential legacy lies with the corpocracy.
I'm looking at his Anger Translators reaction to his statements on climate change to think he may just pull off the end of days as the end of days doing everything wrong for us ordinary people.
